As you may be aware during January 2010 Nottinghamshire County Council carried out a consultation exercise to seek opinion regarding the future operation of the Burton Road bus plug, this following a commitment made by the Cabinet Member for Transport and Highways Councillor Richard Jackson.  Two public events held at Gedling and Burton Joyce were well attended and over 450 comments registered.

Three options were presented to the public for consideration, none of which emerged a being the clear preference. Consequently Councillor Jackson has requested that a wider public consultation be carried out- regarding the future operation of the Burton Road bus plug. This will seek to establish the views of a greater number of people representing different areas along the A612 corridor.

10,000 leaflets have been produced for distribution throughout the area and made available via libraries, local stores and community buildings. Additionally each Parish Council within the area is being sent a number of leaflets which can be distributed locally or made available to local people.  The leaflet presents 3 options for consideration and can also be completed on line at www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/a612review.

The assistance of the Parish Councils will be very much appreciated in distributing the leaflets such that the views of as many people as possible can be collated and considered by the Cabinet Member.
